Murrays' Chef

Introducing Josh Winslow, Executive Chef of Merrick Inn and Murrays'.

This Kentucky native began his career at the Merrick Inn restaurant in 1991 working his way up from prep kitchen to lead cook. He was inspired to become a professional chef. In 1995 he was accepted to Johnson & Wales University, an internationally acclaimed culinary institution in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated summa cum laude from the advanced standing program. While in Charleston, South Carolina, he worked for Magnolias, an establishment widely recognized for superb southern cuisine.

From there, he relocated to Philadelphia and studied under Georges Perrier at his restaurants Brasserie Perrier and Le Bec Fin. After two years working there, he fell in love with the art of cooking and headed north to New York City. He furthered his studies under Tom Coliccio at world renowned restaurant Gramercy Tavern for two years before returning home to Lexington.

Josh rejoined the Murray family in the spring of 2006 and became the executive chef of both establishments owned by the Murray family.
